Headquartered in London, the CDP has offices in Beijing, Hong Kong, New York, Berlin, Paris, São Paulo, Stockholm and Tokyo. Working with more than 680 financial institutions with total assets of more than $130 trillion and more than 280 purchasing companies worldwide, the CDP has taken the lead in harnessing the power of capital markets and corporate purchasing to motivate companies to disclose their environmental impact and to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, protect water resources and preserve forests.

By 2022, nearly 20,000 organizations worldwide have disclosed through the CDP, including more than 18,700 companies with half of the world's market capitalization and more than 1,100 cities, states and territories. The CDP has the world's largest environmental database, and its scores are widely used to drive investment and procurement decisions toward a zero-carbon and sustainable economy. The CDP is a founding member of the SBTi, the We Mean Business Coalition, and has launched the RE100 with the Climate Group (TCG).

CDP entered China in 2012 and is committed to providing a unified environmental information platform for Chinese companies. In 2022, the number of companies in China (including Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan) participating in CDP's environmental information disclosure exceeds 2,700.
