The chairman and CEO is He Xiaopeng. Xia Heng and He Tao are the co-founders of Xiaopeng Motors. They graduated from the Department of Automotive Engineering of Tsinghua University. Xpeng Motors listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker XPEV on August 27, 2020, and on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2021, raising HK$15.8 billion, becoming the first smart electric vehicle stock in Hong Kong, and has been included in the Hang Seng Composite index. Xpeng Motors has become the first major Chinese concept stock to be listed in New York, USA and Hong Kong, China within three years. The total revenue for fiscal year 2021 was RMB 20.99 billion, exceeding RMB 20 billion for the first time, representing a year-on-year increase of 259.1%. In May 2022, Xiaopeng Motors' revenue in the first quarter was 7.45 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 152.6%, and vehicle deliveries reached 34,561, a year-on-year increase of 159%.

On August 4, 2020, Xpeng Motors ranked 23rd among the top 50 new innovative enterprises in China in 2020.
