Society of Entrepreneurs & Ecology
阿拉善SEE生态协会

On June 5, 2004, nearly 100 entrepreneurs launched the Society of Entrepreneurs & Ecology in Alashan Tengri Desert, Inner Mongolia, which is the first social organization in China that takes social responsibility (Society) as its responsibility, entrepreneur as its main body, and ecology as its goal.

In order to effectively promote the development of environmental protection projects and build a three-dimensional and diversified environmental protection organization structure, up to now, the SEE and its members have initiated a total of 15 organizations including five foundations, five NGOs, three social groups and two social enterprises. The SEE's business areas focus on environmental issues such as desertification control, climate change and business sustainability, coastal wetland conservation, biodiversity, nature education, Yangtze River conservation, green supply chain, and industry development.

In 2008, the SEE launched the Beijing Entrepreneurs Environmental Protection Foundation (upgraded to public offering of fund in 2014), and has worked on a number of environmental projects, including "100 million Haloxylon ammodendron" for desertification control, "Entrepreneur for Green Development" and "Powerful Grass Peer" for fostering the power of private environmental protection.

Alashan SEE has more than 900 entrepreneur members and has set up 30 environmental project centers to promote entrepreneurs, environmental public welfare organizations and public participation in local environmental protection; it has directly or indirectly supported the work of more than 800 Chinese private environmental public welfare organizations or individuals, and has driven 600 million people to become participants and supporters of environmental protection. In 2012, the SEE initiated the establishment of the Shenzhen Mangrove Wetland Protection Foundation, which is the first privately-initiated public offering of fund for environmental protection in China, creating a model for coastal wetland protection in China. In 2016, the SEE initiated the establishment of the Hubei Yangtze Ecological Protection Foundation to help the national strategy of "Yangtze River Protection". In 2017, it initiated the establishment of the Xi'an Entrepreneur Environmental Protection Charity Foundation to protect the ecology of the Qinling Mountains. In 2018, the SEE initiated the establishment of Shenzhen Alashan Public Welfare Foundation, which brings into play the advantageous resources and innovative spirit of entrepreneurs to provide continuous support power for public welfare organizations and projects. In 2019, the organization established the Alashan SEE Ecological Public Welfare Training Institute to cultivate professional core strength for the environmental public welfare industry.

The SEE has more than 900 entrepreneur members and has set up 30 environmental project centers to promote entrepreneurs, environmental public welfare organizations and the public to deeply participate in local environmental protection. It has directly or indirectly supported the work of more than 800 Chinese private environmental public welfare organizations or individuals, and has driven 600 million people to become participants and supporters of environmental protection.
