Since the Industrial Revolution, fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas have played a pivotal role in economic and social development and progress of civilization. At the same time, they have also released large amounts of greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, causing changes in the global climate and seriously affecting the biosecurity and ecological balance of the entire planet. In response, the international community has reached a consensus on reducing greenhouse gas emissions and slowing down the process of climate warming, and carbon neutrality has become an inevitable choice.

The realization of carbon neutrality cannot be separated from the support of science and technology. With "Environmental Innovation 2050" as the standard, Hitachi strives to realize the long-term goal of "decarbonizing society", "highly recyclable society" and "natural symbiosis society". By utilizing the technical experience and resources accumulated over the past century, Hitachi combines big data analysis and artificial intelligence technology with diversified solutions to accelerate the process of energy transition and towards a carbon-neutral society. At the same time, a global environmental management system has been established. Under the auspices of the Sustainable Development Strategy Conference, Hitachi is actively engaged in environmental protection work, taking the long-term future into consideration, and actively sharing environmental protection solutions and advanced digital technologies in various forms.

In-depth cooperation in an open environment

In recent years, Hitachi has been introducing its business and related technologies to Chinese enterprises and local governments in the form of technical exchanges, focusing on topics such as innovation, digital economy, health care and pension, and environment, so as to grasp the demand and create new economic value.

In May 2019, Hitachi and the National Development and Reform Commission of China signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in related fields in Beijing. In July 2021, under the guidance of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, Hitachi held an economic and technological exchange meeting in Chengdu with the theme of "Hitachi Technology Helps Chengdu-Chongqing High-quality Development". In the fields of "smart mobile travel", "energy environment" and "digital health care", Hitachi has carried out friendly exchanges with relevant government agencies, enterprises and scientific research institutions in Chengdu-Chongqing region. In promoting the digital economy and addressing environmental issues, it has further strengthened its collaboration with the Chinese government and enterprises.

At the event, Toshiaki Tohara, executive chairman and CEO of Hitachi Production, made a video presentation and introduced Hitachi's business vision. Takashi Yida, executive director and general representative of Hitachi Production in China, explained in detail Hitachi Group's business strategy in China.

Enabling green building upgrade

In June 2021, Hitachi Elevator (China) Co., LTD. (hereinafter referred to as "Hitachi Elevator"), with the theme of "Smart Hitachi Ecological win-win", will appear in 2021 China Building Science Conference and Green Smart Building Expo.

The expo focused on 5G, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things, smart city and other cutting-edge fields, led by "new infrastructure" and "green, environmental protection and low carbon", is the largest and highest-level comprehensive exhibition in the construction field in China.

Focusing on sustainable energy

The International Power Grid Conference, held every two years in Paris, is the world's largest exhibition on power systems. In August 2021, Hitachi and Hitachi ABB Grids attended the 100th anniversary of the International Conference on Power Grids, closely focusing on the common goal of "Powering Good". At the conference, the world's leading innovative technologies were displayed, committed to contributing to a sustainable energy system that is more efficient, resilient, secure and secure.

During the conference, Hitachi ABB Networks unveiled its EconiQ™ portfolio of environmentally friendly products and SVC Light® enhanced stationary synchronous reactive compensator technology, a ground-breaking grid stabilization solution that smoothly integrates large-scale renewable energy into the global grid, actively contributing to the vision of a carbon-neutral society. And help improve zero-carbon electrification in areas such as sustainable transport and data centres. It also showcased digital solutions such as Lumada asset and work management, which help improve resilience and stability while reducing maintenance costs and helping customers achieve their carbon neutral goals.

国际大电网会议每两年在巴黎召开一次，是全球最大的电力系统展会。2021年8月，日立与日立ABB电网出席国际大电网会议100周年大会，紧密围绕“让世界充满活力”（Powering Good）的共同目标，在会上展示了全球领先的创新技术，致力于为可持续的能源系统做出贡献，使其更高效、更有韧性和更安心和安全。
