Robin Li, founder, chairman and CEO of Baidu, said that he hoped that ESG concept would not only stay at the strategic level, but also become the starting point and cornerstone of Baidu's culture and actions. "We must have long-term patience when facing macro issues like ESG". According to the report, Baidu has been continuously controlling harmful information on the Internet for many years. In 2021, Baidu intercepted 56 billion malicious messages annually, intercepted fraudulent websites and apps to reach 27 million users, and protected citizens' personal information from malicious disclosure 220,000 times a day.

According to the report, Baidu continues to improve its corporate governance and ESG management system, adhere to business ethics, and comprehensively improve its ability to resist risks. In 2021, it passed the ISO 37001 anti-bribery management system certification, requiring all domestic suppliers to comply with the "Baidu Supplier Sustainable Development and social Responsibility System", and the signing rate of "Integrity Agreement" among domestic suppliers reached 100%.

In order to strengthen data security and privacy protection, Baidu has set up a data management committee, which is the decision-making and execution body of the company's top-level data management. 报告显示，百度持续完善公司治理与ESG管理体系，坚守商业道德，全方位提升企业抗风险能力。2021年，通过ISO 37001反贿赂管理体系认证，要求所有国内供应商遵守《百度供应商可持续发展及社会责任制度》，国内供应商《廉洁协议》签署率达 100%。

为加强数据安全与隐私保护，百度成立了数据管理委员会，作为公司顶层数据管理的决策和执行机构，负责决策公司数据管理重要事项，制定数据管理相关制度、规范等，发布数据管理标准，并审核日常运营中相关使用行为。2021年，百度获中国信息通信研究院“数据安全治理能力评估”优秀级。

近年来，百度一直致力于用技术解决社会问题。《中国人工智能人才培养白皮书》显示，AI行业人才缺口高达500万，在高度跨学科复合型人才的标准下，人才短缺将会长期存在。百度从产业实践出发，建立AI人才培养平台——百度松果学堂，与教育部建立紧密合作机制，积极开展产学合作协同项目。去年，李彦宏宣布五年内为社会培养500万AI人才，截至目前百度已经培养AI人才超过100万。

联合国全球契约组织亚太区总代表刘萌认为，在落实2030年可持续发展议程的过程中，中国企业正在发挥越来越重要的作用。“我很欣喜地看到近年来百度在ESG领域的重要举措和进展，如2020年11月发布了人权制度，2021年3月、6月相继发布了反腐败专项报告和碳中和目标，连续三年发布年度ESG报告。联合国秘书长古特雷斯今年初曾向全世界发出‘信息高速公路被仇恨和谎言堵塞’的警讯，并呼吁建立以人为本的新技术应用全球治理体系。我相信，以百度为代表的中国互联网企业将会在助力维护网络安全、数据隐私保护、保障公民权益以及打造全球网络健康生态方面有更多作为，为完善以人为本的新技术全球治理体系作出积极贡献。”
