GM has released its 2020 Sustainability Report, which reflects on the company's outstanding environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) performance over the past year, and unveiled new sustainability goals to fully achieve its "zero emissions" vision.

Earlier this year, GM announced its
ambition to achieve zero emissions for all new light-duty vehicles by 2035 and
plans to make global products and operations carbon neutral by 2040. Fully
electrifying products can reduce a company's carbon emissions by 75 percent.
General Motors is building an electric vehicle product lineup covering multiple
brands and market segments based on the self-developed Ultium platform.
In the 2020 Sustainability Report, GM Chairman and CEO Mary Barra emphasized: "The automotive industry is undergoing a once-in-a-century technological change. GM will pave the way for an all-electric future. and inclusive transformation.”
GM is committed to promoting the sustainable and coordinated development of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and jointly actively respond to global climate change. In April this year, the company's medium-term emission reduction targets were certified by the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The target covers greenhouse gas emission standards at all levels. It will help the world limit the average temperature rise to less than 2 degrees Celsius on the basis of the pre-industrial period in accordance with the long-term goals planned in the Paris Climate Agreement, and strive to control the temperature rise. within 1.5 degrees Celsius.
