RE100 is a global initiative launched in 2014 by CDP and the Climate Group to promote the use of 100% renewable energy by businesses. RE100 requires participating organizations to achieve 100% renewable electricity by no later than 2050, and if the participating company/organization is itself an equipment manufacturer of renewable electricity, it is required to achieve 100% renewable electricity use within 8 years of joining RE100. 

Companies joining the RE100 commit to a significant annual electricity demand of at least 0.1 TWh/100 GWh/100,000 MWh and make a public commitment to procure / or have procured 100% renewable electricity. Companies must have a renewable power strategy that includes a reliable deadline for achieving 100% renewable energy. The RE100 target must meet or exceed the following minimum target paths to 100%: 60% by 2030; 90% by 2040; and 100% by 2050.

To track the overall progress of the initiative and ensure its credibility, RE100 members must report their annual access to data through the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire; companies are obligated to provide country-level reporting based on prompts in the CDP Climate Change Questionnaire. Companies that specialize in the following fossil fuel, airline, ammunition, gambling, and tobacco industries will not be considered RE100 members.  

A total of 392 companies from around the world have joined the RE100 initiative so far, including companies from China such as LONGi, Vision and Sungrow.

加入RE100的公司承诺每年有大量电力需求，达到至少0.1TWh/100GWh/100,000兆瓦时,并且要公开承诺采购/或已经采购100%可再生电力。公司必须有可再生电力战略，包括实现100%可再生能源的可靠截止日期。RE100目标必须达到或超过以下的最低目标路径到100%：到2030年达到60%；到2040年达到90%；到2050年达到100%。

为跟踪倡议的整体进展并确保其可信度，RE100成员必须报告他们每年通过CDP气候变化调查问卷获取数据；公司有义务根据CDP气候变化调查问卷中的提示提供国家级报告；

专门从事以下化石燃料、航空公司、弹药、赌博、烟草行业的公司将不被视为RE100会员。 

迄今为止全球共有392家企业已经加入RE100倡议，来自中国的公司包括隆基绿能，远景科技，阳光电源等。
