通威集团董事局刘汉元主席指出，目前全球温室气体的排放，主要源于化石能源的消耗。而从制造过程来看，我国光伏产业已建立起从核心原材料到主要设备、主要产品、系统集成的完整体系，规模全球第一、成本全球领先。根据麦肯锡研究报告，中国光伏是中美两国对比中最具国际竞争力的产业；从能源投入产出来看，制造光伏发电系统全过程的能源消耗，在电站建成后半年左右即可全部收回，而系统设计寿命为25年，可以实现长期零排放、接近零消耗持续发电。

刘汉元主席表示，十多年来，随着产业规模不断扩大，技术迭代升级不断加快，智能制造迅速推广，光伏发电成本下降了90%以上，具备了大规模应用、逐步替代化石能源的条件，已成为全球发展可再生能源的第一主角。光伏产业成本进一步降低，不仅支撑了行业的发展空间，更为光伏企业与社会找到了最大公约数，提供了最大的共同成长空间和全球能源转型的巨大市场，从而推动光伏产业成为全球实现碳中和、应对气候变化的第一主角。
