On March 22, SAIC Motor and Ningde Times signed a memorandum of understanding on strategic cooperation. The two sides plan to further deepen cooperation and explore the joint promotion of power battery recycling for new energy vehicles.

The two industry leaders jointly build a complete closed loop of the new energy industry chain, which will not only strongly promote the healthy development of the new energy industry, but also promote the national circular economy and ecological civilization construction with practical actions.

SAIC attaches great importance to power battery recycling business. During this year's two sessions, Chen Hong, a deputy to the National People's Congress and secretary of the Party Committee of SAIC Motor, put forward a proposal on standardizing the recycling of new energy vehicles and the cascade utilization of power batteries to promote the construction of ecological civilization. Specific contents of the Recommendations include:

• Set up new energy vehicle recycling qualification

• Set up the technology entry threshold of power battery cascade utilization enterprises

• Unified planning and construction of new energy vehicle recycling and dismantling, power battery cascade utilization, power battery recycling and utilization parks

• Combined with the social credit system, the owner should assume the corresponding responsibility of power battery recycling

• In the subsidy policy, the factor consideration of effective recovery of power batteries should be increased

• To provide R&D subsidies for cascade utilization of power batteries

As a leader in the automobile industry, SAIC Motor has reached the domestic leading and international first-class level in the core technologies of electric drive, battery and electric control, and has become the only automobile enterprise in China that adheres to the synchronous development of pure electric, plug-in hybrid and fuel cell new energy technologies.

In June 2017, SAIC Motor and Ningde Times cooperated to build a highly intelligent, green and environmentally friendly advanced battery and battery system production base. In December of that year, SAIC's annual sales of new energy vehicles jumped 156% from a year earlier, well above the average growth rate of about 50% in China's new energy vehicle market.

In January 2018, the key technology and industrialization project of low energy plug-in hybrid passenger vehicle of SAIC won the second prize of the 2017 National Science and Technology Progress Award, becoming the only independent research and development project in the automobile industry, and also the first time that new energy passenger vehicle technology won the national science and technology award.

In March 2018, SAIC and Infineon launched the IGBT (Power Electronic Drive Module) joint venture to achieve strategic card placement in this highly monopolized field of global technology.

上汽集团高度重视动力电池回收再利用业务。在今年两会期间，全国人大代表，上汽集团党委书记陈虹，提出了《关于规范新能源汽车回收和动力电池梯级利用促进生态文明建设的建议》。《建议》具体内容包括：

• 设立新能源汽车回收资质

• 设立动力电池梯级利用企业的技术准入门槛

• 统一规划建设新能源汽车回收拆解、动力电池梯级利用、动力电池再生利用园区
  

• 结合社会征信体系，由车主承担动力电池回收的相应责任
  

• 在补贴政策中，增加动力电池有效回收的因素考量
  

• 给予动力电池梯级利用的研发补贴
  

作为汽车行业龙头，上汽集团电驱、电池、电控三电核心技术已达到国内领先、国际一流水平，成为国内唯一一家坚持纯电动、插电混动、燃料电池三种新能源技术同步发展的汽车企业。

2017年6月，上汽集团与宁德时代合作建设高度智能、绿色环保的先进电池和电池系统生产基地。当年12月，上汽新能源车全年销量同比大涨156%，远高于中国新能源车市场50%左右的平均增速。

2018年1月，上汽低能耗插电式混合动力乘用车关键技术及其产业化项目，荣获2017年度国家科技进步奖二等奖，成为唯一获奖的汽车行业自主研发项目，也是新能源乘用车技术首次获得国家级科技奖项。

2018年3月，上汽与英飞凌开展IGBT（电力电子驱动模块）合资合作，在这个全球技术高度垄断的领域实现战略卡位。
