On December 23, 2019, Mongolia's highest energy award, the Mongolia Energy Construction Quality Project Award, was awarded to a Chinese company. The Ulaanbaatar -- Mandalay Gobi 330kV power transmission and transformation project, undertaken by TBEA Electrician Engineering Co., LTD., became the only project to receive the award this year.

The 330kV power transmission and transformation project between Ulaanbaatar and Mandalay Gobi is highly anticipated by the leaders of the two countries. The highest voltage level transmission project in Mongolia, undertaken by TBEA, began construction on June 21, 2017. After more than two years of intense construction, Mandalay Gobi Substation successfully realized live operation on October 7, 2019, and the completion ceremony was held on October 18, 2019.

The 330kV Ulaanbaatar - Mandalay Gobi Power transmission and Transformation Project has effectively solved the problem of power shortage in the South Gobi region of Mongolia, providing reliable electricity to the Mongolian capital Ulaanbaatar and more than 1.5 million people along the project. The SVC device was also used for the first time in the construction of the project. Tbea electricians provided practical training for the Mongolian side, which enabled the Mongolian power grid operation and maintenance personnel to solve the long-standing technical problems such as insufficient reactive power compensation capacity and unreasonable equipment in the construction and operation of the power grid.

The 50MW expansion project of the Choba Mountain Power Plant in Eastern Province of Mongolia, which is also highly valued by the Chinese and Mongolian governments, is also undertaken by TBEA and started on November 8, 2019. After completion, it will solve the problem of power supply shortage in eastern Mongolia and maintain the safe and stable operation of the power grid in eastern Mongolia. It also provides necessary guarantees for promoting the development of local mineral resources, meeting the electricity demand of 26,300 local households, and promoting local economic and social development.

2019年12月23日,蒙古国能源领域最高奖项——蒙古国能源建设优质工程奖花落中国企业，由特变电工承建的蒙古国乌兰巴托—曼德勒戈壁330kV输变电工程成为今年唯一获奖项目。

2019年12月25日，蒙古国能源发展中心还授予特变电工“最优秀总承包单位”荣誉。

乌兰巴托—曼德勒戈壁330kV输变电工程倾注着两国领导人的殷切期望。由特变电工承建的这一蒙古国最高电压等级的输电工程，于2017年6月21日开工建设，经过两年多紧张施工，2019年10月7日，曼德勒戈壁变电站成功实现带电运行，2019年10月18日举行工程竣工仪式。

 乌兰巴托—曼德勒戈壁330kV输变电工程有效解决蒙古国南戈壁地区电力供应不足问题，使蒙古国首都乌兰巴托及项目沿线150多万人口有了可靠的用电。项目建设中还首次使用了SVC装置，特变电工为蒙古国方面提供了实用培训，使蒙古国电网运维人员具备了解决电网建设和运行中长期存在的无功补偿容量不足、配备不合理等技术问题的能力。
