On January 10, 2022, the Hurun Research Institute released the Hurun China Private Companies SDG Readiness 100(hereinafter referred to as the "List") for the first time, listing 100 Chinese private enterprises that are most in line with the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations. GEM, BYD and Tencent ranked eighth in the 2021 Hurun China Private Companies SDG Readiness 100.

The official Hurun Report revealed the reasons why GEM was included in the list: GEM is the Asia-Pacific Regional Center of the Basel Convention of the United Nations Environment Programme, a demonstration enterprise of the Global Environment Facility, and a national circular economy education demonstration base. By 2020, GEM has built 16 resource recycling plants in 11 provinces and cities in China, covering 9 million square kilometers, and has established waste disposal cooperation with nearly 500 million people, with a total annual waste disposal capacity of more than 5 million tons.

In 2020, GEM invested more than 350 million yuan in environmental protection, implemented 53 environmental protection facilities construction and upgrading projects, and the recycling volume of electronic waste increased by 33% year on year, accounting for 10% of China's total scrap. Meanwhile, the number of safety accidents and the number of work-related injuries in GEM in 2020 decreased by 33% and 52% respectively compared with 2019. In addition, GEM invested in South Africa, Indonesia and South Korea to create a green industry model for Chinese enterprises to dock with "The Belt and Road" Initiative and actively participate in new energy industry cooperation.

In this context, Hurun Report produced Hurun China Private Companies SDG Readiness 100, hoping that this list can give some reference to China's private enterprises about which enterprises are currently doing better in the 17 sustainable development goals of the United Nations, thus encouraging more enterprises to consider sustainable development.

2022年1月10日，胡润研究院首次发布《胡润中国民营企业可持续发展百强榜》（下称“榜单”），列出了100家最符合联合国17个可持续发展目标的中国民营企业。格林美与比亚迪、腾讯并列《2021胡润中国民营企业可持续发展百强榜》第八名。

胡润百富官方揭晓了格林美入选该榜单的原因：格林美是联合国环境署巴塞尔公约亚太区域中心、全球环境基金示范企业、国家循环经济教育示范基地。截至2020年，格林美在中国11省市建设了16个资源循环工厂，覆盖中国900万平方公里，与近5亿人建立了废弃物处理的合作关系，每年处理废弃物总量达500万吨以上。

2020年格林美环保投入超3.5亿元，实施环保设施建设和提档升级改造项目53个，电子废弃物回收量同比增长33%，占中国报废总量10%。同时，格林美2020年全年安全事故起数和工伤人数较2019年分别下降33%和52%。此外，格林美投资南非、印尼、韩国，创造中国企业对接“一带一路”倡议的绿色产业模式，积极参与新能源产业合作。
