On January 6, 2023, the first phase of Welling Automotive Parts Anqing New Energy Automotive Parts Strategic New Base (hereinafter referred to as "Welling Anqing Base") in the Midea New Energy was officially put into operation. It is expected that after the completion of capacity climbing in late February, it will move towards the goal of 1 million electric compressors, 1.2 million EPS steering motors and 200,000 driving motors per year. With the support of the strong manufacturing capacity of American industry, the project will be put into production within one year to meet the "blowout" of new energy automobile market demand at the "Speed of the Midea".

Fu Yongjun said at the launch ceremony: As the strategic direction of Midea Group, the new energy automobile industry has been invested in research and development for more than 10 years. From the development of cutting-edge technology to the establishment of Welling Automotive Parts Company in 2018, from the layout of "three major areas" products to the production of Anqing Base, the industrial technology of the Midea will become an important link in the chain of China's new energy automotive industry step by step, contributing to the rise of China's new energy automotive industry.

Flexible production and 93% automation rate production line guarantee delivery

CPCA data shows that as of November 2022, the domestic retail penetration rate of new energy vehicles has reached 36.3%. In 2023, with the continuous improvement of new energy and charging facilities by major traditional brands, the overall penetration rate of new energy vehicles is expected to approach 50%, and the market space is huge. The rapid completion and commissioning of Welling Anqing Base will further enhance the production capacity and delivery stability of core components of Welling New Energy Vehicle, and more calmly cope with a new round of "blowout" in demand.

The production line put into operation once again led the development of the industry with many bright spots such as "flexible production, traceability, high degree of automation". The production line can realize the agile and rapid replacement of multiple products in the whole production process, accurately trace the process parameters of the assembly process based on the two-dimensional code, and greatly improve the production efficiency and quality assurance by up to 93% of the automatic production ratio. With the support of strong manufacturing capacity, Welling Anqing Base is expected to move towards the target of 1 million electric compressors, 1.2 million EPS steering motors and 200000 driving motors per year after the completion of capacity improving in late February.

Major technological breakthroughs!
Five R&D centers have accumulated more than 10 years of R & D

As an important carrier of the strategic transformation of Midea Group, in addition to the Welling Anqing Base, Welling has also laid out R & D centers and cooperative institutions in Shanghai, Hefei, Anhui, Shunde, Japan, Osaka and Sheffield University to continuously enhance the technical capabilities of core components of China's new energy automobile enterprises.

Taking the first electric compressor offline as an example, the product has the characteristics of "high speed, low noise, low power consumption", mainly supporting the mainstream electric vehicle enterprises in the market such as Ideal, Xiaopeng and Weilai.

It is worth mentioning that in order to solve the pain point demand of "slow charging and short endurance" which affects the decision-making of end consumers, Welling Automotive Parts took the lead in introducing the industry benchmark product, the world's first 800V silicon carbide (SiC) 12,000 rpm high speed electric compressor. In 2023, 800 V electric compressor and other products of CO2 environmental protection refrigerant will also enter the stage of mass production, and Welling automotive components will make more contributions to the industry towards the era of 800V ultra-fast charging.

Welling Automotive Components focuses on the incremental components in the three areas of "thermal management, electric drive and chassis execution system" of new energy vehicles, covering five product lines of electric compressor, drive motor, EPS steering motor, electronic oil pump and electronic water pump. Benchmark zero-carbon plant under Midea's new energy system

When green and low-carbon development becomes a global consensus, the importance of new energy is further highlighted. 乘联会数据显示,截止2022年11月,新能源汽车国内零售渗透率已经达到36.3%,2023年,随着各大传统品牌加速发力新能源和充电设施的不断完善,新能源汽车的整体渗透率有望逼近50%,市场空间巨大。威灵安庆基地的快速建成投产,将进一步提升威灵新能源汽车核心零部件产品产能和交付稳定性,更从容地应对需求量新一轮“井喷”。

五大研发中心逾10年研发积累
