Saudi
Arabia, which is rich in oil resources, is seeking new economic growth points
under the increasing depletion of resources. New energy has become a new answer
to break the tradition and sustain the future, and Saudi Arabia's Red Sea
1.3GWh, the world's largest micro-grid energy storage project, is under
construction.
As a key project in the "Vision 2030", the
Red Sea New Town will be built into the world's first green low-carbon
city with 100% light storage and energy supply. The Middle East
region has a long illumination time and a large desert area, which has the
natural advantages of optical storage project construction. But at the same
time, the harsh environment of high temperature, high humidity, high salt fog
and desert scenes, and the high technical requirements of 100% optical storage
and energy supply bring great challenges to transportation, construction and
system installation. Huawei's intelligent string energy
storage solution supports strip transportation, eliminates on-site battery
installation and other work, and reduces on-site construction and operation and
maintenance costs. The weather in the Red Sea of Saudi Arabia is hot, and the highest
temperature can reach more than 50 ℃. The use of belt plate transportation can
reduce the working time of construction personnel in high temperature
environment and save 2 months of construction time.
In early
October 2022, the first shipment of the Saudi Red Sea 1.3GWh microgrid energy
storage project was sent thousands of miles from Guangdong, China, to the Saudi
Red Sea. The installation of the first tank started in early December, and
400MWh has been completed up to now. At present, the construction of the
project is still in full swing, and a green city in the desert is rising.

作为“2030愿景”中的一项重点工程,红海新城将打造成全球首个100%光储供能的绿色低碳城市。中东地区光照时间长,沙漠面积大,具备光储项目建设的天然优势。但同时高温、高湿、高盐雾、沙漠全场景的严苛环境,和100%光储供能提出的技术高要求,给运输、施工、系统安装带来巨大挑战。华为智能组串式储能解决方案支持带板运输,免除现场电池安装等工作,降低现场施工与运维成本。沙特红海天气炎热,最高气温可达50℃以上,采用带板运输方式可减少施工人员高温环境作业时间,节省2个月的施工时间。
2022年10月初,沙特红海1.3GWh微网储能项目首批发货,从中国广东不远万里发往沙特红海。12月初首箱开始安装,截止现在已经完成400MWh。目前项目建设仍在紧锣密鼓的进行中,一座沙漠中的绿色城市正在拔地而起。
