The 2023 World Power Battery Conference, hosted by the People's Government of Sichuan Province and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was held in Yibin from June 6 to 11.

As a pioneer in urban mining and a promoter of the global new energy industry, GEM attended the conference, and set up a pavilion to introduce its power battery lifecycle value chain model to the world, and to showcase its achievements in exploiting urban lithium, nickel and cobalt mines and promoting the green development of the global new energy industry. Present were Prof. Xu Kaihua, Board Chairman of GEM; Zhou Bo, Board Director and Executive Vice President of GEM; Dr. Zhang Yuping, Vice President of GEM and Chairman of Wuhan Power Battery Recycling Technology Co., Ltd. (Wuhan Power Battery Recycling); and other executives of GEM.

To promote the prosperity of the global power battery industry, and realize the green recycling of the power battery industry chain, Chairman Xu Kaihua not only attended the (closed-door) Symposium on Development of Key Manufacturers of New Energy Vehicles and Power Batteries organized by the Equipment Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and China Automotive Battery Innovation Alliance, and spoke on behalf of the attending enterprises, but also attended the opening ceremony of the conference, and on behalf of GEM, released the Power Battery Industry "Global Integrated Development" Consensus together with guests from CATL, the European Battery Alliance, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand, FAW, Chery and other enterprises.

At the main forum, Wuhan Power Battery Recycling, a holding subsidiary of GEM, signed the Investment Framework Agreement on Yibin New Energy Recycling and Zero Carbon Demonstration Industrial Park Project with Gao County of Yibin, and received the award for "China's Top 15 Most Promising Enterprises" from the organizing committee.

On the sidelines of the conference, Zheng Bei, Vice Governor of the People's Government of Sichuan Province, met with Chairman Xu Kaihua and other entrepreneurs. Sichuan is facing major opportunities such as the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, enjoys unique advantages in clean energy, mineral resources, scientific and educational talents, and cultural tourism, and boasts a strong momentum for future development, she said, hoping that GEM and other leading enterprises would seize the opportunities, remain positive about Sichuan, continue to invest and operate in Sichuan, jointly foster leading enterprises and chain leaders, work together to build a sustainable and sound clean energy industry chain, and constantly grow bigger and stronger while promoting the high-quality development of Sichuan.

Dr. Zhang Yuping attended the Symposium on Power Battery Recycling and Green Development, and the Thematic Forum (Roundtable) on Recycling and Comprehensive Utilization of Power Batteries. He introduced the development and changes of the power battery recycling industry, as well as GEM's innovation practice, shared GEM's exploration and cognition of intelligent dismantlement of power batteries, and hoped to pool upstream and downstream industrial resources to create a win-win ecosystem for the power battery lifecycle value chain business through commercial innovation.

During the three-day conference, under the theme of "exploiting urban lithium, nickel and cobalt mines, promoting the green development of new energy", GEM showcased the gradient use of power batteries in aerial work platforms, construction machinery, energy storage power supply and other fields, the miracle of building world leading ternary precursors through power battery recycling, as well as GEM's remarkable achievements in creating a new energy lifecycle value chain of "battery recycling - raw materials remanufacturing - material remanufacturing - battery pack remanufacturing - reuse - gradient use".

Through the 2023 World Power Battery Conference, GEM will work with its upstream and downstream partners, operate in southwestern China, leverage the advantage of Yibin as a global battery industry center, step up the development of the green and low-carbon industry, strengthen and optimize the recycling economy, and pool tremendous strength to continuously promote the high-quality development of GEM.

6月9日,大会开幕式在宜宾国际会展中心隆重举行,十三届全国政协副主席、中国科协主席万钢出席开幕式并致辞。万钢还与全国政协常委、经济委员会副主任苗圩,四川省委副书记、省长黄强,工业和信息化部副部长辛国斌和匈牙利驻华大使白思谛共同启动2023世界动力电池大会开幕仪式。来自全球的动力电池领域专家和产业链领军企业代表齐聚一堂,围绕"绿色新动力·世界新动能"这一主题,把脉动力电池产业发展趋势,共创绿色未来。

张宇平博士应邀参加了动力电池回收利用绿色发展交流会、主题论坛动力电池回收与综合利用论坛（圆桌对话）。张宇平博士分享了动力电池回收产业的发展变迁和格林美的创新实践,分享了格林美动力电池智能拆解的探索和认知,并希望通过商业创新,聚合上下游产业链资源,围绕动力电池全生命周期价值链业务共建共赢生态圈。
