"China Carbon Scholars" Gathered in the Beautiful Southern Seas from October 12th to 15th, the School of Economics and Management of Tsinghua University held a gathering of "China Carbon Scholars" at the beautiful Hailing Island in the southern part of the South China Sea in Yangjiang. They visited the Mingyang Group, explored the high-quality development of the new energy industry under the dual carbon goals, and shared insights in the academician's classroom and with the Carbon Scholars. Zhang Chuanwei, the Party Secretary and Chairman of Mingyang Group, warmly welcomed the faculty and students.
The "China Carbon Scholars" visited the Mingyang Yangjiang Shaba Offshore Wind Farm and the world's first typhoon-resistant floating unit demonstration project, the wind-fishery integrated project aboard the "Hailongming" vessel. They also attended a thematic sharing session on the comprehensive utilization and development of marine energy by Mingyang Group. At the Mingyang Yangjiang base assembly plant, everyone gained a firsthand understanding of Mingyang Group's practice and action in leading the technological advancement, industrial clustering, and application scenario of clean energy, promoting the healthy and sustainable development of offshore wind power, and contributing to the breakthrough and contribution in realizing China's "dual carbon" goals and global green and low-carbon transformation. They expressed recognition and affirmation of the advanced and leading nature of Mingyang's high-end intelligent manufacturing equipment.
Under the global carbon neutrality goal, the development and utilization of renewable energy are fundamental to achieving carbon neutrality. Advancing the energy revolution and constructing an energy supply system driven by multiple rounds of coal, oil, gas, electricity, nuclear, new energy, and renewable resources are crucial. New materials and new energy technologies are essential. Two academicians from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering conducted in-depth sharing and exchanges with the students on related topics.
In the course "New Materials and Development Prospects in the Carbon Neutrality Process," the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences shared the status and current situation of new materials, the four major development trends and four major research and development directions of new materials, and the supporting role of new materials in carbon neutrality. They also detailed the key materials in five major carbon neutrality technology development areas, including renewable energy, efficient energy storage, and smart energy networks.
In the course "Building a Waste-Free Society and Rural Energy Revolution," the academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering pointed out that the goal of "dual carbon" must be achieved, but the implementation process needs to be scientific and rational. Building a "waste-free society" and a rural energy revolution are important paths to help achieve the "dual carbon" goals. This also requires technological innovation support and accelerating the pace of digital development.
During the Carbon Scholars' lecture, Zhang Chuanwei shared the twists and turns of Mingyang's entrepreneurship and inspirational experiences, as well as the entrepreneurial development and business model practices of Mingyang Group, and the strategic future of building a century-old foundation. Zhang Chuanwei had in-depth interactive exchanges with the students, expressing their own views on the future development of Mingyang Group and the new energy industry, demonstrating their vision for the high-quality development of the new energy industry and the realization of dual carbon goals.

They actively discussed and collided ideas on the development prospects of the new energy industry, industrial integration and innovation, hydrogen storage development, and innovative pathways for the high-quality development of the new energy industry and the realization of dual carbon goals.
Throughout the research and study courses, Mingyang Group also meticulously organized the "Night of Hailing Island" Lingnan cultural experience event, providing the Carbon Scholars with a unique cultural feast. Professor Liu Xiaochun of Sun Yat-sen University delivered a themed sharing session. While enjoying characteristic cultural performances such as Cantonese opera, lion dance, and martial arts, the students explored the open, inclusive, innovative, and practical spirit of Lingnan culture, gathering new strength for corporate development. During the stargazing night event, the faculty and students of the "China Carbon Scholars" engaged in thoughtful exchanges, shared their growth experiences, highly appreciated Mingyang's culture and spirit, and praised the well-planned and warm reception of this research and study activity.

在《碳中和进程中的新材料及发展展望》课程中,中国科学院院士分享了新材料的地位和现状,新材料的4大发展趋势和4大研发方向,以及新材料对碳中和的支持作用,并详细讲述了可再生能源、高效储能、智慧能源网络等五个碳中和技术重点发展领域的关键材料。
在《建设无废社会与农村能源革命》课程中,中国工程院院士指出,“双碳”的目标必须实现,但实施过程需要科学理性。建设“无废社会”、农村能源革命是助力实现“双碳”目标的重要路径,还需要以技术创新支撑,加快数字化发展的脚步。
碳索家讲堂中,张传卫为师生们讲述了明阳创业的曲折历程和经验启示,分享了明阳集团的创业发展与商业模式实践,以及打造百年基业的战略未来。张传卫与学员进行了深入的互动交流,就明阳集团和新能源产业的未来发展各抒己见,展现了对新能源产业高质量发展和实现双碳目标的憧憬。
