Recently, the Publicity and Education Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment officially announced the list of 2025 "Beautiful China · Green Space Users" typical cases. Wuxi Airport Group's "On-site Co-composting Project of Kitchen Waste and Green Waste" was successfully selected, becoming the only case in the civil aviation sector to receive this honor. It was also released at the 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30), contributing "airport wisdom" to the green transition of transportation hubs.

近日，生态环境部宣传教育中心正式公布2025“美丽中国·绿色空间使用者”典型案例名单，无锡机场集团“厨余垃圾—绿化废弃物就地协同堆肥项目”成功入选，成为民航领域唯一获此殊荣的案例，并在第三十届联合国气候变化大会上发布，为交通枢纽绿色转型贡献了“机场智慧”。

It is understood that the project is located at the former project construction headquarters in Plot D of the airport. By renovating idle space, it has achieved efficient activation and utilization of resources. Meanwhile, Wuxi Airport Group has collaborated with Yanxi Ecology, an ecological chain enterprise incubated by the China International Cooperation Center for Environment and Development, to innovatively adopt on-site co-processing technology for two types of biomass waste (kitchen waste and green waste), building a sustainable resource recycling system.

据了解，该项目位于机场D地块的原项目建设指挥部，通过改造闲置空间，实现了资源的高效盘活与利用。同时，机场集团携手国合基地孵化生态链企业——言蹊生态，创新运用厨余与绿化两类生物质废弃物就地协同处置技术，构建起可持续的资源循环体系。

Construction of the project started in March this year, entered the trial operation phase in May, and has been stably handling 1 ton of kitchen waste and green waste generated by the airport every day since June. "Previously, the kitchen waste and green waste produced by the airport relied on off-site disposal, which not only increased operational costs but also brought certain environmental pressure," said a relevant person in charge of Wuxi Airport Group. Today, after 45 days of scientific composting, these wastes can be converted into dark and fertile organic fertilizer, which is directly reused for the airport's greening maintenance, forming a complete ecological closed loop of "waste → organic fertilizer → plants." "It not only significantly reduces the cost of off-site disposal but also increases the resource utilization rate of biomass waste to 100%, truly realizing 'turning waste into treasure,'" the person in charge added.

项目于今年3月开工建设，5月进入试运行阶段，6月起便已实现每日稳定处置1吨机场产生的厨余垃圾和绿化垃圾。“此前，机场产生的厨余垃圾和绿化废弃物依赖外运处置，既增加了运营成本，也带来一定的环境压力。”机场集团相关负责人介绍，如今，经过45天科学堆肥，这些废弃物可转化为黝黑肥沃的有机肥，直接回用于机场绿化养护，形成“废弃物—有机肥—植物”的完整生态闭环。“不仅显著降低了外运处置成本，更让生物质废弃物资源化利用率提升至100%，真正实现‘变废为宝’。”相关负责人说。

Wuxi Airport Group has carefully designed various themed activities: in the "Kitchen Waste Rebirth" activity, employees intuitively experienced the charm of resource recycling by planting succulents with compost and participating in environmental knowledge quizzes; the "Party Building Red Leads Ecological Green" ecological planting activity launched by the Party Committee of Wuxi Airport Group has built a long-term mechanism for environmental protection participation, integrating green concepts into daily work and life.

As a three-star "dual carbon airport," Wuxi Shuofang Airport has long integrated green operations into its development genes. It has previously implemented multiple green projects such as photovoltaic power generation, a high-efficiency energy management center, and a reclaimed water reuse system, and is currently promoting the construction of an intelligent microgrid in the East Cargo Area. This kitchen waste resource utilization project further extends the concept of circular economy to the "last mile" of waste management.

作为三星级“双碳机场”，无锡硕放机场早已将绿色运营融入发展基因。此前已落地光伏发电、高效能管中心、中水回用系统等多个绿色项目，目前正推进东货运区的智能微电网建设。此次餐厨废弃物资源化利用项目进一步将循环理念延伸至废弃物管理“最后一公里”。
