On July 30, Chengdu and CATL signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to jointly promote the implementation of major industrialization cooperation projects. Shi Xiaolin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Wang Fengchao, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Zeng Yuqun, Chairman of Ningde Times, and Xie Ruiwu, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, attended the signing ceremony.

CATL is a world-renowned leading power battery company. It has previously invested in projects such as lithium battery manufacturing and cathode material manufacturing in Xinjin District and Jintang County, Chengdu. This signing marks the official launch of strategic cooperation between Chengdu and CATL.

According to the cooperation agreement, CATL will set up the Southwest Operation Headquarters and Chengdu Research Institute in Chengdu in the future, focusing on the development and utilization of new energy, power batteries, new energy storage and other fields, promoting innovative technology research, achievement transformation, project incubation, product demonstration applications, and helping Chengdu's green and low-carbon industries will build a strong chain, and create an important source of innovation to support the high-quality development of the national lithium battery industry and a leading domestic demonstration city for interconnection and combined power exchange. At the same time, the two parties will also focus on conducting all-round cooperation in the fields of power exchange infrastructure construction, comprehensive utilization of resources, manufacturing of key battery materials, new energy and energy storage.

宁德时代是全球知名的动力电池龙头企业，此前已在成都新津区、金堂县分别投资了锂电池制造、正极材料制造等项目。此次签约，标志着成都市与宁德时代正式全面启动战略合作。

根据合作协议，宁德时代未来将在成都设立西南运营总部和成都研究院，聚焦新能源开发利用、动力电池、新型储能等领域，推进创新技术研究、成果转化、项目孵化、产品示范应用，助力成都绿色低碳产业建圈强链，打造支撑全国锂电产业高质量发展重要创新策源地和国内领先的互联互通组合换电示范城市。同时，双方还将重点围绕换电基础设施建设、资源综合利用、电池关键材料制造、新能源及储能等领域开展全方位合作。
