Chint New Energy Provides EPC services for Romania's Largest Photovoltaic Power Station So Far

Chint New Energy, together with its partners, has entered into an agreement with Econergy, a solar developer, to provide EPC services for the construction of a 154-mWP PV plant in Arges County, southern Romania.

It is reported that the power station is the largest installed capacity of photovoltaic power plant in Romania to date. When connected to the grid, it is expected to provide clean energy for about 100,000 households and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 160,000 tons per year.

In recent years, renewable electricity has been playing an increasingly important role in Romania's power mix. In order to achieve sustainable energy and environmental development, the EU has established the overall development goals of renewable energy, while Romania has also introduced policies related to renewable energy.

According to the National Comprehensive Plan on Energy and Climate Change 2021-2030, the Romanian government plans to increase the proportion of renewable energy in the total energy consumption to 30.7% by 2030, and plans to add 3,692 MW of solar power installed capacity in ten years.

In addition to government support, Romania has an inherent advantage in developing solar energy. Romania, located in the northeast of the Balkans in southeastern Europe, has abundant sunshine and suitable climate. Compared with the central and Western Europe, the construction cost and labor cost are lower, and the photovoltaic industry has a good foundation for development.
