On May 29, Southeast University and the University of Birmingham jointly held the 2022 International "Carbon Neutrality" University Academic Conference, which is another important event since the two universities launched the Carbon Neutrality World University Alliance in 2021. Ma Xin, Vice Governor of Jiangsu Province, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Ma Xin said that achieving carbon peaking and carbon neutrality is a major strategic decision made by the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at the core, and it is an extensive and profound economic and social systemic change. Jiangsu conscientiously implements the decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, and unswervingly follow the path of ecological priority, green and low carbon. And the quality of the ecological environment has reached the best level since the century. Colleges and universities, as an important position for enhancing the primary driving force for innovation and cultivating the primary resource for talents, are promising in the journey of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality. It is hoped that the Alliance of Carbon Neutral World Universities will take this conference as an opportunity to give full play to the advantages of disciplines and talents, further promote academic exchanges and scientific research cooperation, strive to produce more fruitful results, and contribute to the protection of the beautiful earth home.

In Hillhouse's view, at present, "carbon neutrality" has gradually formed a consensus on a global scale, and many social capital forces have also begun to flow into the low-carbon field. Although China may have to pay more hardships than developed countries in the process of achieving this goal, the benefits produced by energy change, technological change and economic transformation during the period are huge, so the future is still promising. With the help of the report, Hillhouse stated its position and released a signal that Hillhouse attaches great importance to the factor of climate change in the process of investment, and "carbon neutrality" will be an indispensable investment decision-making criterion for Hillhouse in the future.

5月29日，东南大学联合伯明翰大学举办2022国际“碳中和”大学学术会议，这是2021年两校发起成立碳中和世界大学联盟以来的又一重要活动。江苏省副省长马欣出席开幕式并讲话。

马欣表示，实现碳达峰、碳中和，是以习近平同志为核心的党中央作出的重大战略决策，是一场广泛而深刻的经济社会系统性变革。江苏认真贯彻党中央、国务院决策部署，坚定不移走生态优先、绿色低碳之路，生态环境质量创新世纪以来最好水平。高校作为增强创新第一动力、培养人才第一资源的重要阵地，在碳达峰、碳中和的征程中大有可为、大有作为。希望碳中和世界大学联盟以本次会议为契机，充分发挥学科优势、人才优势，进一步推动学术交流和科研合作，努力产出更多丰硕成果，为守护美丽的地球家园贡献力量。

在高瓴看来，目前，“碳中和”在全球范围内已经逐渐形成共识，众多社会资金力量也开始流入低碳领域。尽管在实现该目标的过程中，中国可能要比发达国家付出更多的艰辛，但期间由能源变革、科技变革及经济转型所产生的效益是巨大的，因此未来仍然可期。借助《报告》，高瓴表明了立场，并释放出了一个信号——高瓴在投资生命周期中高度重视气候变化因素,“碳中和”将是高瓴未来不可或缺的投资决策标准。
