Carbon Reduction: Carbon reduction is achieved through three pathways: "avoiding emissions from incineration and landfilling, soil carbon sequestration, and reducing transportation-related emissions". The total carbon reduction is approximately 22.9 tons of CO₂_eq (equivalent to the annual carbon sequestration of 1,270 trees), verified by on-site monitoring from the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Implementation Plan & Process: To address the pain points of surging community organic waste, high off-site transportation costs, and low resident participation, the project was advanced under the "(1+1)×N" model (Qingdao Niwo Chuangyi Social Work Organization + Vanke Chengyang Diecheng × N communities). From 2024 to 2025, composting was implemented in 11 communities (10 in Chengyang and 1 in Licang): first, site selection, research, and plan approval were conducted, with "kitchen waste + garden waste composting" piloted in Meigui Li Community and other communities advancing as needed.
